SJB was appointed by Sydney Water to prepare a Development Capacity Study for the Guildford West Precinct located, at Lot 12 DP1175686 Palmer Street, Guildford West.
The site has an area of 3ha and is bound by Palmer Street to the west, Albert Street to the north, Frank Street to the east and the Sydney Water pipeline to the south. The southern portion of the Pipehead Precinct, located outside the study area boundary, is still in operation and plays an important strategic role in the supply of water throughout Metropolitan Sydney.
The purpose of the work was to identify the site’s potential redevelopment through a process of context and site analysis, which informed key design principles that led to a preferred concept design.
