Located on the corner of High St and Sherwood Rd Toowong, the proposed development consists of three apartment towers, a public piazza, intimate reflective spaces, cooling ponds, meeting places and a mixed use retail, food and beverage offering at the ground plane.
The apartments are nestled into circular, trunk like forms that mimic those within the forest, and maximise the inhabitant’s outlook. External expression is derived from the local sub-tropical climatic conditions, responding to solar orientation, ventilation and daylighting needs. The 530 apartments will consist of a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom residences, with views oriented towards the Brisbane CBD, Mount Coot-tha and the Brisbane River. A restrained and elegant palette with hues appropriate to the tropical environment is maintained through the apartments, amenities and interiors.
The towers’ multi-level podiums include extensive landscaping creating a sub-tropical urban garden that integrates spaces for relaxation and relief, and provides amenity for the inhabitants. The ground level is defined by a cellular, shaded pavilion, protecting public spaces and integrated retail tenancies, whilst connecting with the streetscape and busy corner intersection.
