NSW Local Planning Panels

SJB Planning Directors Alison McCabe and Stuart McDonald have recently been appointed by the Minister of Planning to senior roles on Local Planning Panels, in ongoing recognition of their professional status as NSW Urban Planners. All Local Planning Panels commenced operation from 1 March 2018.

Alison has been appointed the Chair of the City of Canada Bay Council Independent Hearing and Assessment Panel (IHAP) and the Hawkesbury City Council IHAP as well as an alternate Chair of Wollongong City Council IHAP.

Stuart has been appointed the Chair of the Camden Council IHAP and alternate Chair of Campbelltown, Cumberland and Strathfield Council Local Planning Panels. Stuart is also a long-standing member of Waverley Council Development Assessment Panel.

Alison and Stuart join a list of Chair appointments made by the Minister that include former Judges and Commissioners of the NSW Land and Environment Court as well as senior lawyers and planners.

Alison remains a long standing Ministerial appointment as a member of the NSW Southern Joint Regional Planning Panel. Stuart is a Ministerial appointment to the five Sydney Planning Panels as well as all of the NSW Regional Planning Panels.
