January 2019

The Urban Development Institute of Australia’s presentation of Victorian Awards was held on Friday, 7 December at Crown Palladium.

The Victorian UDIA Awards for Excellence continues to showcase the urban development industry’s finest work and invites the public to learn more about the exceptional projects happening across Victoria.

It is with great honour that we announce, 181 Fitzroy in St Kilda designed by SJB took out the award for best High-Density Development (below ten storeys). We would like to congratulate our client Pace Development Group for their commitment and vision to the 181 Fitzroy project and their success in this competitive awards program.

What the judges said, “Purchasers will never lose their spectacular view, a view that is matched by the quality of the apartments, and unique features, such as the rooftop pool and communal area.

Pace has created high-density development with excellent and large living spaces and good parking in a location which is well served by public transport, open-space and nightlife. It’s a worthy winner.”

Commendations and collaborations

We would also like to acknowledge and congratulate our client, AVJennings for their award for Ellery at Waterline Place in Williamstown. Also designed by SJB, the collection of seven modern 3-level townhomes received a Commendation for Medium Density Development (below ten storeys).

In addition to these achievements, SJB Planning collaborated on the award-winning Elwood House by Piccolo Developments which received the Medium Density Development award and the Judges’ Award – Metropolitan Melbourne, and CF Row by Deal Corporation which received the Urban Renewal award and a Commendation for the Judges’ Award – Medium Density Development.
