Zero GippsCollingwood VIC Australia
Zero Gipps is a future-proof, highly sustainable and design-driven workspace that responds with sensitivity to the Collingwood precinct and existing urban character. With human wellness, amenity and sustainability at its core, Zero Gipps includes a number of active and passive environmentally sustainable design initiatives focusing on occupant comfort, health and mental wellbeing.
The shell of the existing mid-century warehouse has been retained within the new design, while classic Collingwood warehouse design signatures will be reinterpreted into the design. Textural materials including brick, terracotta and cork will be used throughout.
At ground, the facade will be utilised as active hospitality/retail spaces with an additional five levels of workspace and rooftop amenity. End-of-trip facilities will include a 56 bike storage with a repair station, electric charging facilities and private locker room with showers. The central landscaped courtyard will provide the main circulation of the building with vertical landscaping attached to connecting bridges and open-air stairs, encouraging occupants to utilise them to move between levels.
Zero Gipps responds to the character of its context with a sense of ‘place’ through materiality, articulation and best practice guidelines.
